AIDA-PMMA STORAGE AND HANDLING CONDITIONS:
  1. STORGAE
Packed plastic sheets should not be placed in outdoor condition and should not be exposed to weathering agents. Upon storage in a not-suitable condition, the flat sheet will tend to bend, even if it is placed in a horizontal situation.
Polyethylene masking films protect the sheet against dirt and scratches. It is better to remove the film after the final process on the sheet. This film is not suitable for outdoor application and is only slightly resistant to UV and heat, hence it is suggested to remove the film immediately after installation or final process.
  2. CLEANING
Upon removing the surface protection film, electrostatic induction is being applied on the sheet surface, which causes the sheet to absorb the dirt and small particles of the air. Normal water is suitable enough for cleaning and protection of the sheets.
The extra dirt should be cleaned by warm water and detergents, using a soft cleaning device. The sheets could be cleaned also with soft cloth or chamois leather. Cleaning the sheet surface at dry condition, will cause scratches and damages on the sheets.

The surfaces which have oil and grease on them, should be cleaned by using non-aromatic gasoline or petroleum. Other suitable materials for cleaning AIDA – PMMA sheets are :
1- Dilute acids like Citric acid, Hydrochloric acid, Sulphuric acid
2- Dilute hydroxide sodium or hydroxide potassium
    3- Vinegar
4- Ethanol, natural soaps and home detergents

If the sheets are installed at a suitable curve or vertically, there is no need to clean the outer surface of the sheet. The dust will be cleaned with rain and also you can use water for this purpose. The surface of the PMMA sheets is smooth enough to prevent sticking the dust particles to it. The dust and small particles could be removed by soft cloth or sponge, water and detergents. Bigger size surfaces are cleaned by mechanical processes, but it is not suggested for AIDA – PMMA sheets, because even if you use a huge amount of water, again is the risk of scratches on the sheets.

AIDA-PC STORAGE & CLEANING CONDITIONS:
  1. STORAGE
AIDA – PC sheets should be protected against weathering agents like Sunshine and rain. The sheets with the same length, should be placed together horizontally, while the longer sheets should be placed at the bottom to avoid them from deformation. The sheets should have suitable support and no animal or vehicle should passon them.
  2. CLEANING
Cleaning the sheets at the specific time periods and according to the company guidelines will cause them to have a longer life. It is suggested to use solvents such as Hexane and Heptane and washing the sheets with water, after cleaning process in order to remove any residue of the solvent from the surface of the sheet.
    • Washing the sheets with small surface area:
1- Wash the sheets with lukewarm water
2- Wash the sheet with lukewarm water and soap or any conventional detergent, which is used in home. Use Sponge or soft cloth for cleaning purposes.
3- Wash the sheet with cold water and dry it with soft cloth.
    • Washing the sheets with big surface area:
1- Wash the surface with high pressure water.
2- Only use detergents which are compatible with polycarbonate
Note : Never use thinning or alkaline solvents.
Common detergents may not be compatible with the UV layer on the sheets, for example never use a detergent based on Butyl Cellosolve or Isopropanol.
3- Do not use brush or any abrasive material.
Note : If the sheets are going to be used in the roofs, do not walk on them during installation and cleaning processes. Use a wooden purlin on the roof ctructure for this purpose.

ABS STORAGE CONDITIONS:
  1. Care should be taken for the warehouse situation, while the sheets should not be exposed to air flow and should not be placed against door or windows, as the air will transfer its humidity to the sheets.
  2. The temperature of the sheets warehouse should not be lower than 20 C, otherwise the sheets should be pre-heated before thermoforming, in order to remove the humidity from it. The best time for keeping the sheets in the warehouse is maximum 20 days in the summers and 15 days in the autumns & winters.
  3. Due to the excessive humidity in the thermoforming production line, try to put as much sheet as it is required and place the other sheets in another hall.
  4. In rainy weathers and in the winters, when the humidity level is high, try to place more sheets on the top of eachother, in order to prevent air circulation between the sheets.
  5. Do not spray water on the surface of the sheets, as it will cause problems in the thermoforming process.
  6. The sheets should not be exposed to the vapor of chemical materials, as this will destroy polymer molecular chains.
  7. Due to the influence of different solvents on ABS sheets, care should be taken in the application of suitable solvents for cleaning the surface of the sheets. Never use solvents like Gasoline, Toluene, Xylene, Acetone and other thinning solvents for cleaning the sheets. Instead, you can use solvents such as water, Alcohol & Ammonia for this purpose.
